drawings
These are drawings of psychological structures. Often they sit on barren plane, a locale that only exists as an idea. It is a land of primordial human existence, the very beginning of culture and somehow a representation of an end. As a whole the work undulates between latent potentiality and faded dreams. For the individual it’s the space on either side of the center stroke of our conscious- ness. For a culture, on one side it’s the wreck of society; Edo Japan or the pioneer west, on the other it’s a future city to be imagined or what can’t be imagined.
